Motherhood: Baby Must-Haves for 6-12 Months Old

One of my most read posts ever is my Baby Registry Must-Haves and it made me think of that time Miles was at such a fun age! Once baby starts getting more mobile from 6-12 months, things change and you may want to start thinking of a few more items to keep baby busy! So friends, I’ve done the work and I’ve partnered with my friends over at buybuy Baby for this sweet list of my MUST-HAVE items for baby at 6 months to about a year. We actually had our baby registry here for Miles and we continued to visit the store because of the variety of products that are available for baby to toddler. When Miles was younger, I found it hard to find a list like this online that wasn’t genuine and really authentic. I want you guys know that I’ve used and still use many of these items on this list to this day!

Items for your 6-12 month old you’ll actually use:

  • Baby Carrier | Your little one is growing and fast. With baby needing more support on longer walks and stroll, I highly recommend the Ergobaby Carrier. Honestly, Miles is almost 18 months old and I still use the thing. It has more support than the other slings or carriers you may have been using when baby was smaller and is an alternative to using the stroller. Also, this comes in super handy when you’re trying to keep baby contained (like on an airplane)!
  • Skiphop Activity Center | This 3-in-1 Activity Center and Exerciser was part of Miles’ daily activities at one point. It was super convenient to plop him in there to play around and grow with baby. He now uses it as a table to play with his toy cars and draw on!
  • Skiphop Moby Tub | I’m seeing a pattern here guys but this 3 stage tub came in handy when Miles was able to sit up! If you’ve been following along, you know how much he enjoys bath time and this made it much more fun for him! It also helps save the amount of water you use because you don’t need to fill up the entire tub with water.
  • Skiphop Stroller Organizer | Have a million and one things to start packing now that baby is teething or starting solids? This stroller organizer is probably owned by every mom you own and for good reason. Keep your phone in reach along with a bottle or sippy at the mall or in the park!
  • Bumkins Long-Sleeved Bib | Starting solids can be messy but I found this LONG-SLEEVED bib to be especially helpful when we were dining out or travelling to prevent baby from getting his clothes dirty.
  • Skiphop Silicon Bib | This catch all bib is not only cute but functional. Helps to catch some of the food that might end up on the floor especially when they’re just starting to eat on their own.
  • EZPZ Placemat | This placemat sticks to almost all surfaces and separates food into sections.
  • Munchkin Trainer Sippy Cups | This spill-proof sippy makes it easier for baby to learn to drink on his own without the mess.
  • Phil and Teds Lobster Chair | One of my favourite purchases that is worth every. single. penny. We still are using it to this day and find this portable high chair super easy prop up and pack up. Comes in a portable bag with handles and stays in our car for the road but can be used at home on a sturdy table top/ counter.
  • Breathablebaby Crib Liner | Does your little one use a pacifier? This crib liner helped contain Miles’ pacies especially during naps and sleep because they didn’t roll out of the crib! I also prefer this crib liner over others because of its breathable fabric that won’t break the bank!
  • Trend lab Rail Cover | Don’t want to ruin your baby’s crib when they start teething? A must-have to help with this problem with this protective crib rail cover made to help ease baby’s teething and prevent your crib from being chewed on!
  • KidCo Baby Gate | Once baby starts getting more mobile, you’ll need to start thinking about baby proofing. My little one was super active and we have stairs that he literally would want to climb every time we turned our head the other way. Gates were and still are key in reducing any staircase accidents in our home!
  • KidCo Portable Playard | Need to go to the washroom or leave baby safe and nearby while you start preparing his meals? This portable playard allows for you move from room to room while keeping baby safe and contained!
  • Skiphop Play Mat | Have you ever slipped on your floors? Now imagine your little one taking a little roll or tumble. Not a good time for you or baby. Playmats are key in allowing your little one to explore while keeping their limbs comfortable! This Skiphop playmat is a must-have especially with a playful rainbow print and squishy texture.
