Getting Festive – Eggnog Latte Recipe

One of my favourite things during the holidays is when stores start stocking Eggnog. There’s a lot of debate over this festive drink but I absolutely love it. Eggnog’s a drink I love to have at every holiday party, and one that’s always in our fridge this time of year. Whether it’s served warm, cold, or spiked, it can be made to pleasure just about anyone who loves the drink. For me, I prefer mine in latte form. Although I like to treat myself to the drink at the local coffee shop, it can definitely add up. So, I decided to start making my own at home. It’s easier than you think!

I recently was gifted the Aer™ Disc Container for my Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series blender and it seriously is what everyone looking to make life easier needs! During the holiday season, I love making delicious recipes for my family and friends, but it’s great to have a tool that allows me to cut down on prep time in the kitchen, and spend more time connecting with loved ones! My new Aer Disc container has taken my recipes to another level, not only can it froth my eggnog lattes, it also whips, emulsifies, and muddles too! It’s super convenient for moms like me who need things done like yesterday during this crazy time of the year!

In this recipe, I purchased my favourite Organic eggnog, but you can also make your own from recipes like this one here.

This recipe will make 2 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup skim milk (works best for frothing)
  • 1 cup espresso
  • Ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)
  • Whip cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make espresso and put aside.

  2. Pour the skim milk into Aer disc container and secure the lid. Select the lowest setting. Start the machine, slowly increasing to Variable 6 and run for 30 seconds. Stop the machine.
  3. Add eggnog, secure the lid and select Variable 8. Pulse about 3 to 5 times to incorporate.

  4. Pour the milk combination into your espresso and top whatever you desire: a pinch of ground nutmeg, whip cream and cinnamon sticks.

  5. Enjoy and let the Vitamix clean itself!
