Fall To-do: Apple Picking

[zephyr_dropcaps style=”withbg” firstcolor=”#333333″ bgcolor=””]A[/zephyr_dropcaps]h, the crisp autumn air has finally made its way around again! Fall is finally here and brings with it layers of happiness: apple picking, pumpkin pie eating, and gorgeous fall foliage. This year, we started early. My husband (eek! I’m still getting used to this) went apple picking for those delicious HoneyCrisp apples because we missed out on them last year! These apples are so popular that our entire tractor wagon gang got off to pick them at their stop!

We visited Chudleigh’s Apple Farm in Halton Hills, but there are so many throughout (it’s probably the most popular so go early to avoid the crowd and take photos). Three bags full of HoneyCrisps and some eaten along the way (sorry!) later, we enjoyed some fresh grilled corn-on-the-cob under the autumn sun.

All in all, if you’re looking to enjoy that fall weekend weather, head over to an apple orchard with a date, family or friends and pick-your-own! Oh, and don’t forget that there is a technique to picking apples, just remember: “Eye to the sky.”
…Happy picking everyone!
